He understood the seventh of our Seven Cornerstones of Leadership, which is the periodic and temporary suppression of ego.

Every leader must choose into whom to invest their time. The higher the quality of the raw material, the finer the finished product. Before pouring your skills and energy into another, look for character, competence, and commitment within them.
